In 2018, after three years in the classroom as a teacher and over a year of graduate school, I found myself in over $100k in debt–and only $3,000 of that was student loans. Getting out of debt was something that I took very seriously. As in, I chopped up all of the credit cards we had, budgeted every dollar we earned, sold our first home and almost everything in it, bought a 42-foot Travel Trailer to live in with six dogs, a cat, and a husband, and sold all of our cars because I didn't want to have to pay for a car loan anymore. Yes. THAT serious.
